Fireworks!

This is one of Barb Seuss's challenge called ''Open Stars'', I decided to use a variagated thread I had a while now, and wanted to find the perfect temari for it, I think this is it! I just love how it looks.The thread is Threadworxs called Romanian flag, but my middle daughter said ''the temari is like fireworks bursting in the sky'', so thats what I will call it :)

The bigger temari ( 42cm), in progress, is a class taught by Barb. I find this size slightly difficult to manage but definatly learning new techniques :)

Its a simple six division ball with three layered spindles.

Red and Green

I started this ball as a simple four division.

When I finished the squares I felt I needed to fill the gaps, so added the bands.

Striped Obi Temari

This Pattern is from Barb Seuss's Book Japanese Temari : a colorful Spin on an Ancient Craft ( ISBN-10: 1-9333081-2-5). I really like this one and I think I will make some more in various shades.

Temari Neo C8

From Temari Traditions by Diana Vandervoort. Changed it a little as I am still learning to space my thread stitches, I also did not add two rows of yellow around the triangles. I will try this ball again at a later date.

New Temari finished (S8)

I am working furiously on my temari and produced these two this week. I am learning all the basic stitches. This is a simple 8 division, I managed to space my stitching so that the threads dont buckle. I used metallic threads but the colour doesnt show so well on the one with the pink

its green with yellow.
