New temari and nature's temari

We moved home, and are beginning to settle in. I started on some new temari and had the opportunity to photograph them today. It is my favourite season and the leaves are everywhere. We also have squirls and many birds visiting the garden. 

And nature produces its own temari :) I had these photos taken in April in Greece, on the very beach in Marathon, where the Persians landed to attack Athens in 490BC . I was so amazed to find these perfect natural temari balls lying on the shore front and wanted to share.

Sunflower class, Ball 1 ready!

A wonderful class by Barb Seuss , the instructions are easy to follow and Barb is a very talented teacher.This class is the Sunflower where techniques such as kiku herringbone stitch and triwing (trefoil) are taught , and two new things for me such as the french knot and the lazy daisy. This class is still available for those interested.

From Temari Traditions by Diana Vandervoort. Changed it a little as I am still learning to space my thread stitches, I also did not add two rows of yellow around the triangles. I will try this ball again at a later date.
