Honeydew

This is S6 temari. The base is in a variegated yellow and orange 27 cm circumference. It is stitched in white, blue and variegated orange threads. On each pole it has a basket pattern in white with blue stars. The white thread is 1 cm apart.

New temari and nature's temari

We moved home, and are beginning to settle in. I started on some new temari and had the opportunity to photograph them today. It is my favourite season and the leaves are everywhere. We also have squirls and many birds visiting the garden. 

And nature produces its own temari :) I had these photos taken in April in Greece, on the very beach in Marathon, where the Persians landed to attack Athens in 490BC . I was so amazed to find these perfect natural temari balls lying on the shore front and wanted to share.

This Pattern is from Barb Seuss's Book Japanese Temari : a colorful Spin on an Ancient Craft ( ISBN-10: 1-9333081-2-5). I really like this one and I think I will make some more in various shades.
