Pastel star

I found a very fine gold and ecru thread at a tiny shop in the middle of nowhere ( so to speak), its very fine not the normal no5 I use, looks like a no12 I think ( no labels). Anyway I liked to have a go and see how it would end up. I used a 4 petal kiku herringbone stitch, I love the ''flower'' pattern at the center that was created. In real life the gold thread looks very pretty but in my photos its dull :(

I am working furiously on my temari and produced these two this week. I am learning all the basic stitches. This is a simple 8 division, I managed to space my stitching so that the threads dont buckle. I used metallic threads but the colour doesnt show so well on the one with the pink

its green with yellow.

I loved making this as it was filled with new stitching.
The lesson included patterns for two matching balls.
